“Happy, smart kids grow up to be contributors in society,” says Terri MacCannell, Kinette Club of Stampede City member.
I Can for Kids is excited to be the beneficiary of the first annual Hole in One Golf Tournament presented by the club. MacCannell explains that this was an “easy” decision for her group. “The money raised will truly help hundreds of kids this summer and make it a summer to remember.”
The Kinette Club of Stampede City believes in the value of serving their community. For over 50 years, they have been a proud member club of Kin Canada, giving back to many organizations across Calgary. “We are a dynamic group of women from all walks of life who share a common goal – to help make our community a better place to live,” says MacCannell, who is also a past National President of Kin Canada.
What is your favorite childhood memory of summer? The ability to just be a kid! Living in a small town, I went swimming everyday with my many cousins and friends. We played at parks, rode our bikes and always had the ability to roam safely around our town.”— Terry MacCannell, Kinette Club of Stampede City member
The Hole in One Golf Tournament is a major fundraiser for the club. New and unique to Calgary, all 18 holes in the tournament will be shortened down to par 3’s and each golfer will have 18 chances at a hole in one with a chance at winning $10,000 cash.
All proceeds will help feed hungry kids in Calgary this summer. “Our purpose is to make a difference in our community. Supporting I Can for Kids is making a difference in the lives of our children and youth by simply supplying a basic need,” explains MacCannell.
“The numbers continue to be staggering around kids in our city not having a lunch in school or throughout the summer. It is near and dear to our hearts to ensure Calgary kids enjoy their summer holidays and not worry about where their next meal will come from.”
Thank you Kinette Club of Stampede City for your support in helping us feed children and youth in Calgary this summer! Your contribution will make a huge difference in our community and in the lives of those we serve.
