As a new sponsor to I Can for Kids, Inter Pipeline recognizes the importance in helping community members gain access to a basic human need: food.
Inter Pipeline, a major petroleum transportation, storage and natural gas liquids processing business based in Calgary, contributes positively to the communities they operate in. “We strive to make positive and tangible contributions to improve the quality of life and build strong relationships with our neighbours,” explains Karen Vasquez, Stakeholder Relations Advisor at Inter Pipeline.
“The work that I Can for Kids does to help put an end to summer childhood hunger is an important cause that Inter Pipeline is proud to support,” says Vasquez, adding that I Can for Kids is in alignment with one of the main values of their Inter Pipeline Cares Fund (icare). “Our icare fund primarily targets charitable organizations supporting the vulnerable or underserved in our Canadian operating areas by addressing the basic societal needs of food, shelter and wellness.”
Summer should be a time for fun memories not a time to worry whether or not you will have enough to eat that day. “We can all agree, some of the best childhood memories occurred in summer,” says Vasquez, “Time spent outside, with friends and family will remain fond memories for years to come.”
